What are the characteristics of successful writers would you

add to the list based on your study of the principles of teaching

writing skills? How would you “translate” or reword these
characteristics into steps that s student could take in writing
effectively?
Writing skills include all the knowledge and abilities related to
expressing ideas through the written word. Writing skills are an
important part of communication. Good writing skills allow
communicating the message with clarity and easing to a far
larger audience than through face-to-face or telephone
conversations.
A good and successful writer is the person who proves his point
for everything that he writes by giving a necessary example
may be fictitious or may be from the real life incident. A
successful writers’ writing is when the reader meets a voice
that is distinct, a voice that is individual and appropriate. The
reader meets a human who shares with him some important
parts of her life experiences, ideas, and thoughts.
The characteristics of a successful writer are described below:
 Careful attend to specific, assigned writing task -
A good writer always attend specific to his writing task.
This helps him keep his mind concentrated to the writing
task
 Focus on a goal or main idea –
A good writer controls his idea or focus on main idea. The
controlling idea is just that: the idea that controls all of the
other ideas and details that are included in the piece of
writing. If it doesn’t support or enhance the main point of
the writing, then it doesn’t belong.
 Perceptively gauge their audience –
A writer keeps his audiences in his mind. Thinking for
everyone the writer keeps his writing straightforward and
makes the structure clear so that the reader could easily
understand.
 Spend some time planning to write –
Writing is a process that takes time and effort. Even the best
writers have difficulty putting their ideas into words. As well
as planning is useful because it can help organizing the
thoughts and prioritize the way one present information. A
good writer always spends time before writing.
 Easily let their ideas flow onto the paper –
In good writing ideas demonstrate a clear line of thought
that translates from the writer’s mind to the reader’s, which
ties back to the controlling idea. The writer organizes the
content in the order that he or she did, and, to the reader
which feels like progression of thought flows.
 Follow a general organizational plan as they write –
Good writers plan their messages, often using an outline
or notes made before writing the message. Lack of a plan
before writing may seem to save a writer time, but it can
confuse the writer once she begins, and it slows the
receiver. Here planning enables the writer thinking of the
final product that will be created and evaluated at the end.
Gradually they follow an organizational plan through their
whole work.
 Solicit and utilize feedback on their writing –
Getting feedback is a key step in the writing process. it is
the comments, questions, and suggestions a reader gives a
writer to produce 'reader-based prose' (Flower, 1979) as
opposed to writer-based prose. A good writer always
utilizes feedback on their writing.
