 What is a rubric and why should you use one?


3> A rubric is an explicit set of criteria used for assessing a particular
type of work or performance and provides more details than a single
grade or mark. It has three parts: 1) performance criteria 2) rating scale
and 3) indicators.
We can use rubric as the main purpose of a rubric is its ability to assess
student's performance or work but the best part of a rubric is that it's
flexible! Rubrics can be tweaked and customized to any type of
assignment and in every subject. In one class alone students could be
creating videos, giving presentations and writing essays. Moreover we
use rubrics to structure discussions with students about different levels
of performance on an assessment task.
4> Speaking skills are the skills that give us the ability to communicate
effectively. Micro and macro are two skills of speaking. Macro-skills are
skills at the discourse level and micro skills are skills at the sentence
level.some of the Micro and macro-skills of speaking are:
Micro-skill: Phonemes, words, collocations, phrasal units
They include production English stress patterns, reduced forms,
production of fluent speech, use of strategic devices.
Macro-skill: Fluency, discourse, function, style, cohesion, nonverbal
communication.
They include the appropriate accomplishment of communicative
functions, use of appropriate styles, registers, conversation rules, etc.
