Preface

PROJECT 1 & 2 LOGBOOK (JJ514 & JJ614)

Students are required to use this log book throughout the duration of the Project 1
(JJ514) & Project 2 (JJ614). This book must be filled in as the project is going on. All
relevant findings and activities must be recorded and then verified by group
supervisors weekly. This book is an important mechanism for supervisor to evaluate
a student's attitude and ability and also to monitor the status of the student's
project throughout the semester. Among the relevant information to be recorded
include:
i.

project title, objectives, scope and work plan

ii.

project progress

iii.

project preparation, problems and suggested solutions

iv.

relevant references from journals, websites, books etc.

v.

equipment used including circuit or schematic diagrams

vi.

suggestions, assignment and discussions results from supervisors

vii.

summary of any relevant work that has been done

A reminder to students
i.

This log book must be presented to your supervisors to be evaluated EVERY

WEEK.

ii.

All activities conducted must be recorded at the activities section in the log
book.

iii.

This log book must be submitted to your supervisors along with your Project
Report/Thesis Draft to be graded by your supervisor at the required date
(Refer to Project Action Plan).

iv.

A student can be given the failure grade if he/she was found not able to
achieve the minimum requirement of this subject (subject to approval or
suggestion by the supervisor).

v.

Students are also required to present their logbook to the examiners during
the final presentation.

Course Synopsis
JJ514 Project 1
PROJECT 1 prepares students with basic skill knowledge in preparing research
proposal and a well written paperwork. This module emphasize on personal
development in preparing a good presentation.

JJ614 Project 2
PROJECT 2 introduces the students to the concept in conducting a design or case
study. The students select a project, list the project needs, the project process
involve, cost estimation, project schedule and applied appropriate methodology in
the project planning. It also involves project implementation, project report and
presentation.
