    Boltz communicated with parents in three ways: the teachers would email/call if there was a problem, there were parent teacher conferences, and there
    were regular other meetings at the school to inform specific groups of parents (such
    as for ELL students). Some teachers will post rules for classroom behavior in their
    room as well, though Mrs. Hulse did not. An example of rules I would consider using
    is here, though I would ask my students to collaborate with me building them:

    Mr. Bergs Class Contract


    -Be punctual.
    -Be respectful.
    -Ask questions.
    -Help one another.
    -Have fun exploring math with me and each other!
    I would then post this on the wall on a big colorful piece of construction paper
    and have all the students sign it like the Bill of Rights.
