SUBJECT: Project Proposal

Purpose/Problem

To discover if telecommuters are just as productive as other workers.

Feasibility

With technology the options for companies to give their employees the
opportunity to Tele-commute becomes a lot easier depending on the line of work
the company is in. Looking at telecommuting, we see how it benefits companies
and workers:

Workers are less stressed

Workers are well connected
Workers cost less
Creates new jobs
Tele-commuting provides choice
Companies benefit from happier employees
Workers are more engaged
Commuting to and from work can be stressful.

Audience

Our initial audience would be people currently employed by companies that give the
opportunity to tele-commute with different positions, and companies looking to add the
opportunity to tele-commute.

Topics to Investigate

Companies/People that Tele-commute

Companies/People that succeed in Tele-commuting(Qualifications)
Stats to whether or not productivity is better
Pros & Cons
What lines of work, jobs, positons call for tele-commuting

Methods

Our main research method for this project is to find scholarly articles, books, and other
reliable sources through the Humber College Library Database, and Internet.

Qualifications

I am currently enrolled in Business Administration - Accounting at Humber College. In Talking

to multiple CPAs Ive found that there are multiple opportunities to tele-commute. Both my
parents also tele-commute, my mother works from home, and my father works regular hours
during the day in the office, but outside of those hours works from home, the company
provides him with the necessary resources for him to be capable to do both.
