The preparation of construction drawings plays an important role inthis process. [Objectives of Project ‘The objectives ofthis project are as follows: © To introduce basic principles and procedures of construction process through real-life project {experiential learning). To understand the sequence and coordination of construction at site. To expose studen's to construction technology/metnods responding to site context © To allow student to demonstrate their understanding and knowedge of construction, material and technoiogy. ‘To train students to produce manual sketches, drawings and detaiing relating to EXISTING construction, eM ‘© Produce a complete documentation {pictures, sketches and drawing) and an analysis of construction elements. © Understand and expiain construction elements and its components. Understand current construction technology on local construction sites. Explain current material and technology in relevance to the present construction industry, Page L of 4 SE Your task is to select an ongoing construction site which visibly demonstrates mast of the subject topics covered in the syllabus, Your selected sites should be medium rise or low rise buildings eg, Commercial buiding, bungalow, terrace houses or maximum 4-storey building, To identify different types of building elements and its construction process, details and materials. You are to study and record construction of different building elements, which you have learnt in this module, Spectically, you should be able to show and apply your knowledge inthe details ofthe buiding construction drawing that you are to compie, thereby reflecting your understanding of the construction ise. Document (Visual images, Annotated Sketches and Drawings) ‘* Construction process, methods, materials, site context. ‘© Documentafion should be in the form of photos, pictures, sketches, drawings and annotations. ‘Analyse and Explain Specifications of materials used in construction Dimensions and sizes of components Standards of descriptions Procedures in constructing the components SES ‘© A3 bound report complete with visuals, sketches and manual drawings inclusive of the detaiing ‘and documentation of your project. Visuals / Photos used in the submission must be clear and well communicated. ‘Sketches are meant to provide visual documentation and communication. Therefore sketches are required o be neat, clear and annotated. ‘Manual drawings of all construction elements covered in this syllabus.
