Peer student name: Noura Sultan Date: 11-11-2015 grade: Year 1 lesson title: Patterns Strengths -A good way of getting all the students engaged at the beginning of the lesson by counting the numbers together while waiting the other students to come in the class. -Using ICT (a video to introduce the new lesson). -Using positive reinforcement to encourage the students. -Asking the students questions if they got things wrong (ex: when you asked them to find patterns around the class and they found a wrong pattern you asked them to give reasons why it's not a pattern). -Linking the title of the lesson with the classroom environment which is a kind of linking it with real life experience and it helped the students to understand more. -After investigating the different patterns around the class, you told them the main rule of patterns which is it should be repeated. -Send the groups one by one after giving them the activity's instructions. -The worksheet size was large enough which allowed the students to have enough space to do the activity. -Different activities for different levels. -Allow the students to discover and investigate the activity without giving them very detailed instructions which helped you to see their overall knowledge about patterns. -Moving around and check the students while working. -Helping the students to fix their work without letting them feel that they have done a mistake. -Well managed class. -Stop the students from doing the activity and send them group by group quietly to the carpet. -Ask some of the students to show and present their work to the other students which was a way of encouraging and supporting their work. Suggestions -Prepare an extra task for the higher level students in case they finished early. Teacher students comment -Well done and planned lesson, I enjoyed it a lot (:
