Characteristics of the Holy

Quran
Islamiyat
The Quran is the Holy Book of Allah which was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad PBUH,
through the angel Hazrat Jibrail (A.S) over the course of 23 years. It is meant to be used by
humanity to guide them towards the right path, for all humans present and all those that
have yet to come the teachings in the Quran are applicable and authentic for the time
being till the day of judgement. The Holy Book is the complete code of life which if followed
properly opens the doors to Jannah in the afterlife. It tells what is forbidden and what is
allowed, what is mandatory and what is optional, what is acceptable and what is not
acceptable. The Holy Quran is the major source of laws in Islam and provides use of law in
legal thinking and matters such as marriage, divorce, haram. The almighty Allah himself has
taken the responsibility to protect and safeguard the Holy Book from any damage or
duplication. The major themes of Quran include Tauheed (belief in the oneness of Allah),
Prophethood, news about the unseen and the manners of worship in Islam.
The unique book is pure and original in its content and order, as it is today as when it first
came down over 1400 years ago.
