Objectives:
The students will demonstrate a knowledge of solfedge singing and
translating.
The students will apply tonal skills to learn a popular song by ear.

The students will perform a popular song with accurate pitches and
rhythms.

Planned Sequence:
Introduction: Quick good morning. Straight into tonal echoing and echo
translation.

Objective 1: Students will demonstrate a knowledge of solfedge


singing and translation.
o Have students ECHO TRANSLATE tonal patterns on voice. Tonal
patterns will range from Sol-Sol, and be in triple meter. (1 Min)
o Add on instrumental echoing after singing. (Model, Sing on
Solfedge, Play) (2 Minutes)
Objective 2: Students will apply tonal skills to learn a popular song by
ear.
o Students will ECHO tonal patterns that are used in the song. (1
Minute)
o Teacher will model Cant Help Falling in Love with You in full. (2
Minutes)
o Students will learn song by rote phrase by phrase, using
solfedge. (4 Minutes)
Objective 3:
o Students will PERFORM song in its entirety, and assess
performance. (5 minutes)

Closure:
Students will identify the type of meter the song is in, after having performed
it accurately.
