1. Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity

To Facilitate and Inspire student learning and creativity my lesson will allow for students to
promote support and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness by allowing
them to use google slides to present the research they have conducted in creative and
inventive ways. I will Engage them in exploring real-world authors and issues like utopian
societies and author biographical information using the internet, I pads and google docs. I
will promote student reflection using collaborative tools to reveal and clarify students
understanding and planning, thinking and creative processes of the authors biographical
information. Students will model collaborative knowledge construction by collaborating
together on the author biography slides in Google Classroom and face to face.
2. Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and
Assessments
As a teacher I designed an Author Biographical slide lesson that will
incorporate digital tools such as Google Classroom, Google Docs and
Google Slides that will promote student learning and creativity. The
lesson allows for students to research Author Biographical
information and pursue their individual curiosities and become
active participants in setting their own goals and managing theier
own learning and assessing their own progress. The lesson
customizes and personalizes activities to address diverse learning
styles and abilities by allowing students to use Apps that they are
comfortable with to demonstrate understanding of the authors
biographical content. The Lesson provides a formative and
summative assessment aligned with the RI to content standards
and technology standards and uses resulting data to inform learning
and teaching. The formative data will be the preliminary
information the students find relating to the author Lois Lowry. The
students will collaborate on the validity of the data they find in their
research and create a summative slide show that demonstrates
knowledge of the authors biographical background.
3. Model Digital-Age Work and Learning
As a teacher I modeled Digital age and work and learning by domontrated fluency in
computer systems and application systems used by students. Collaboratied with students,
teachers and peers using Google Classroom to support student success and innovation. I
communicated relavant information and ideas to students and parents using Google
Classroom. I modeled and facillated effective use of current and emerging digital tools to
locate analyze and evaluate infoamtion resources to support research and learning
throught the use of a student lead and student directed lesson plan where students could fill
out an author study with their own information researched by themselves.

4. Promote and Model Digital Citizenship and Responsibility

Teachers understand local and global societal issues and responsibilities in
an evolving digital culture and exhibit legal and ethical behavior in their
professional practices. As a teacher I advocate, model, and teach safe, legal,
and ethical use of digital information and technology, including respect for
copyright, intellectual property, and the appropriate documentation of
sources by teaching proper source citation, MLA plagiarism avoidance
techniques and through the use of proper source material cites.
I address the diverse needs of all learners by using learner-centered
strategies providing equitable access to appropriate digital tools and
resources through the use of KWL charts and interest surveys. I promote and
model digital etiquette and responsible social interactions related to the use
of technology and information through the use of MLA source citations and
through the use of student friendly resources and websites such as google
classroom. I develop and model cultural understanding and global awareness
by engaging with colleagues and students of other cultures using digital-age
communication and collaboration tools on google classroom.
5. Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership
Teachers continuously improve their professional practice, model lifelong
learning, and exhibit leadership in their school and professional community
by promoting and demonstrating the effective use of digital tools and
resources. I participated in local and global learning communities to explore
creative applications of technology to improve student learning by observing
several teachers and their use of technology.
I exhibit leadership by demonstrating a vision of technology infusion,
participating in shared decision making and community building, and
developing the leadership and technology skills of others by helping in
decision making with other teachers.
I evaluate and reflect on current research and professional practice on a
regular basis to make effective use of existing and emerging digital tools and
resources in support of student learning though the use of reflective lesson
planning.
I contribute to the effectiveness, vitality, and self-renewal of the teaching
profession and of their school and community by becoming involved with the
professional learning communities at my school.
