EXPORT DOCUMENTATION AND PROCESS

1.IEC number - is required to act as an importer or exporter.it is a one time


licensing procedure . DGFT(Director general of foreign trade) operationalises online
filing of IEC applications online processing and issue of e IECs in digital format .once
you obtain iec number u can export from any port.the transactions through any port
happens through an authrised dealer here it is a bank.each bank has an
AD( authrised dealer code)so u must get an letter from the bank through which u r
going to transact stating that u are having the current account in that bank and the
ad code of the bank should be mentioned in that letter and submit that letter to the
custom officials and register the ADcode with customs.

3.PAN number : if u r the only owner (sole proprietor) of business ur own pan card is
enough. is there are partners or if it is a pvt or public ltd company then pan carf for
company name should be obtained and u must also mention the directors ot
partners individual pan number in the application.

agreement with the authorities to settle any disputes that may arise in future.

7. Registration with central excise department
8.RCMC (registration cum membership certificate) registration : to get benefits from
government agencies. if u are a manufacturer of a particular product u need to
obtain rcmc certificate from that respective authorities.
9. Registration with sales tax : to claim sales tax benefits against exports.
To know :
proprietor : only one person owner
partnership : more than one person involved
corporation : the company is considered as a person and it is responsible for its
liabilities. there are no owners only share holders . they have limited liability . even
if the company fails the share holders personal properties are safe. the corporation
are governed by state laws.
