ILHAMS HOLIDAY IN LANGKAWI
2534, Jalan Merpati,
Taman Guru,
15100 Kota Bharu,
Kelantan.
14th February 2016
Dear Alistair,
How are you getting on? I hope life is treating you well. It was wonderful reading your
letter about your trip to Venice. Imagine a city that has canals instead of roads! How
interesting to travel on boats instead of cars and busses! Im sure you had a wonderful
holiday. Coming back to London must have been boring!
One of my lifes ambitions is to travel to all these places. I am hoping to further my
study overseas and maybe we can travel together to Venice, Paris, Geneva and so on!
I spent my holidays in Langkawi Island with my family. It was my first trip there and
we travelled by a local airline, Firefly. It is a small aeroplane and I felt nervous and anxious.
The aeroplane did not fly very high so I could see all the beautiful view from up above.
Sometimes the air turbulent made me dizzy but luckily it was just for a few seconds. The
stewardess showed us where the life jackets were kept and how to use them, in case of
emergency. Fortunately, we arrived safely at Langkawi International Airport.
Langkawi is one of the most beautiful islands in the country. It is also a shoppers
paradise, for many things are cheaper than on the mainland.
We, children, spent our week swimming, boating and travelling to the smaller islands
around Langkawi. We travelled by ferry and small boats. Father spent his entire holiday,
fishing. He caught quite a lot of fish and became very popular with the kitchen staff of our
hotel.
It was an amazing and splendid holiday for our family. One day, if you ever visit me
in Malaysia, Ill take you to Langkawi. It is still an unspoilt island with fresh air and white
beaches. You will fall in love with Langkawi, I reckon.
Ill stop here as I have started yawning. Tomorrow, Ill have to get up at six to get
ready for school.
Cant wait to have another live conversation with you via Skype! Good Bye!
Your best buddy,
Ilham
