INNOVATIONS AND TECHNOLOGIES BRING MORE

BENEFITS TO MANKIND
1. Introduction
1.1. It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our
humanity. Albert Einstein
1.2. Technologies originally intended to lessen peoples workload.
1.2.1. Human civilizations were marked based on their ability to invent
something useful.
1.2.2. However, inventions created new hazard and new behaviour develops
within man towards the existence of innovations and technologies.
1.3. Technology seems to make people getting dumber, dependencies toward
them increases, diminishing skills, create new harms, safety issues, people
are getting isolated, people etiquette is lessening and job loss of people, thus
all generations should be refrained from obsessive use of innovations and
technologies.
2. Arguments
2.1. People are getting unwise with the existence of technologies.
2.1.1. The use of technology being so excessive decreases the productivity of
humans in their academic lives (Wentworth & Middleton, 2014).
2.1.1.1. Example: Plagiarisms becoming more obvious as more
assignments are taken by copy and paste method rather than
paraphrasing them.
2.1.2. As software technology improves, the people using it become less
likely to sharpen their own know-how.
2.1.3. Besides its positive side, one of the other negative sides of technology
is that it distracts pupils from their studies in class especially.
2.2. People are getting too dependant / hooked on technologies.
2.2.1. Technology has developed in every area and has rendered people
unable to live without it.
2.2.2. Even though some people use technology as needed, many people
cannot live far from technology even for one minute of their daily lives
(Choliz, Echeburua, & Labrador, 2012; Lee, Chang, Lin, & Cheng, 2014).
2.2.3. Less time for outdoor activities as well as quality time with family and
friends
2.3. Workers / professionals are getting their skills diminishing through days.
2.3.1. Computers are taking over the kinds of knowledge work long
considered the preserve of well-educated, well-trained professionals
2.3.2. When software takes over, manual skills wane.
2.3.3. Examples:
2.3.3.1. The doctors felt that the software was impoverishing their
understanding of patients, diminishing their ability to make informed
decisions around diagnosis and treatment, (Hoff, 2007-08).

2.3.3.2. Flying skills decay quite rapidly towards the fringes of tolerable
performance without relatively frequent practice, Mr. Ebbatson
concluded.
2.4. Technologies and innovations can affect health.
2.4.1. Due to overuse of technology, there are new illnesses nowadays
(Ylmaz, Ulucan, & Pehlivan, 2010).
2.4.2. The increasing smartphone use in the past ten years threatens human
health by creating an addiction to them, especially in case of overuse,
though they provide advantages (Chiu, 2014).
2.4.3. As well as affecting youngsters and children in many ways, they can
bring personality disorders to light per the type of games (Griffiths, 2000).
2.5. Technologies and innovations create new safety issues.
2.5.1. Number of road accidents increase due to drivers fails to focus on the
road due to distraction of gadgets.
2.5.2. Electrical shock and hazards due to wrong pone charging methods and
even, explosive hazards.
2.5.3. In professional field, for example, automation-related pilot errors have
been implicated in several recent air disasters.
2.6. People getting isolated.
2.6.1. Too much connecting people through chat rooms, text, forum and
websites rather than face to face.
2.6.2. Spend more time sitting alone in front of computer than out to the
community.
2.6.3. The society becoming more individualized and the losing the ability and
desire to be around with people.

without the computer skills.

3. Refuting opponents argument

3.1. With technologies, we have achieved the status of modern mankind.
3.1.1. However, we are getting one step backwards in the view of humanity
and attitudes. People are no longer friendly by facing them directly and
humiliation towards people without technologies are here.
3.2. Complex calculations and workload are getting alleviated by the help of
technologies.
3.2.1. Even so, we forgot the origin of the methods conducted by the
technologies. We have entered the de-skill phase where we cannot
even be creative if technology is getting out of service. How ancient
technologies still mesmerize us, even though they have no computers?
3.3. Thanks to technologies, we can discover the world.
3.3.1. Christopher Columbus discovered America without the help of
computers.
3.3.2. Our geographical knowledge is degrading. Even without Global
Positioning System (GPS) we are stranded nowadays.

4. Conclusion
4.1. Simply by controlling the usage of technologies to mankind, our people in
person can become modern and civilised in all aspects, including attitudes
towards each other.
4.2. The world will become more friendly and we can become stronger person in
facing circumstances where technologies become unavailable.
