PERFORMANCE TASK # 1

1. Considering the risk of the painstaking labors involved in the development of computer
technology in the 19th & 20th century, are modern humans making use of the technology
wisely? Why or Why not?

For me, it's a no, because even though other people enhance their own technology to
keep the user secure when they are using it, sometimes we can't really rely on the
technology for our own privacy. As previously said, technology has considerably benefited
the economy in the current period and is regarded as one of the most crucial components
of our lives. However, the difficulty is that the influence of technology on one's individual
life has had a significant impact on their way of life. The issue arises when individuals only
regard technology as a means to a better life. People become aggressive and greedy once
they are incentivized to utilize technology. In general, technology is utilized for fundamental
activities such as internet access and online communication. However, the harsh reality of
technology has resulted in individuals using their phones on a regular basis, preventing
them from being productive. The exploitation of raw materials and natural resources as a
result of many of our technical advancements has also contributed to their progressive
depletion. As we can see today, a significant portion of our forests has been destroyed to
make room for enormous industrial and mining sites, factories, and other infrastructure to
meet the rising demand. Currently, we are experiencing several natural calamities.

2. How can we possibly give credit to the great inventors in the past for their contributions
to modern society?

We can possibly give credit to the great inventors by using their own inventions. By
making use of them, we can also learn a lot from them about how they invent things, which
will give us some ideas for what they do. We can also pass on the story to other people
about what they invented, like Tim Berners-Lee (the creator of the internet), Charles
Babbage (the creator of the computer), Nikola Tesla (the creator of the radio), etc., to show
appreciation and recognition for what they do for us to make our lives easier.
