TOPIC END ACTIVITY # 4

Instruction: Give your thoughts on the given question. Elaborate your answer.
Reminder: Use your own words/ideas. Refrain from copying and pasting
information from the internet if not instructed. (10 points each)
1. Try to imagine the world without technology. How do you think your day-to-day
life would be like? What would have happened to humankind if technology did not
exist?
Answer:
Technology is significant because it is responsible for shaping what lies
ahead, and it enables us to take part in creating ideas and producing innovations.
Technology is the utilization of knowledge to achieve practical goals efficiently.
Given that machines nowadays are considerably quicker than humans, particular
duties that require an immense amount of manual labor and attention to detail
can be effectively completed with the assistance of technology. As someone who
uses technology to explore one's passions, skills, and other capabilities, I can
assert that it would be difficult to sustain my life without it. For instance, in the
event there is no technology, I may be unable to complete tasks that are part of
my daily routine. Humankind will remain in a stable state in which evolution and
change are not factors that motivate individuals. Our perspectives on life and
survival may not evolve without the assistance of technology since it allows for
the development of new technological equipment that can make our lives more
convenient. Without technology, we might now be having troubles in our lives to
the point where it would be difficult to sustain them on a daily basis.

2. As some would argue, technology has now become a necessity for people and it
is now impossible for technology and humanity not to cross paths. As the world is
battling against COVID-19 pandemic, a lot of changes and problems emerged -
particularly, on mental health issues; even education and learning has evolved.
As a student, how did it affect your life and how did technology provided a way to
cope up with the changes brought by the changing times and environment?
Answer:
Change is the only constant we can encounter in this world. When the
COVID-19 pandemic began, everything changed from normal to what we now
refer to as the "new normal." Everything happened so fast that we could barely
acknowledge the changes that took place. These abrupt changes had a
significant impact on my life, particularly on my studies and overall health. From
learning through the traditional way, we were forced to undergo a virtual set-up
that was unfamiliar to us. The unfamiliarity of the situation made me concerned
and uncertain about how I should feel. It had a major influence on my learning
ability and mental health management. Fortunately, improvements in technology
had already been made when all of these unforeseen circumstances happened.
As we were transitioning to a new way of living life, technology made every

aspect possible. It enabled me to keep up with my studies while simultaneously

handling my psychological state.
3. Identify one (1) particular technological innovation/advancement. Discuss its
advantages and disadvantages in many areas of human existence.
Answer:
One of the greatest technological innovations is the smartphone. A
smartphone is a type of cellular telephone that can do more than just make
phone calls and send text messages. Smartphones, like computers, can access
the Internet and run software programs. Smartphones allow users to interact with
them through touchscreen technology. There are thousands of smartphone apps
available, including games, personal-use, and business-use programs.
Smartphones are user-friendly devices that have made everything accessible via
the sensation of touch. Similar to other technological devices, smartphones also
have their advantages and disadvantages. The advantages of using it include
staying in touch with loved ones via calls, text messages, or images that express
feelings sweetly and amusingly, and it can also entertain you with games, music,
or movies enhanced by some applications. There are also disadvantages, such
as increased electromagnetic radiation as a consequence of heavy internet
usage, which may lead to health issues such as brain tumors and skin cancer,
the harmful effects of which could be mitigated by reducing the use of the
devices.

you end up with something that is massive.”
