Inclusion Techniques for Students with Special Needs:


Additional assistance will be provided by a special education teacher or paraprofessional. Additional time may also be granted if necessary.

Students may create a table displaying their flier or the elements contained within.

to participate in the lesson):
Additional assistance will be provided by a special education teacher or paraprofessional. Additional time may also be granted if necessary.
An example of the project will be available for viewing.

Lesson Presentation
Introduction/Motivational Activities/Anticipatory Set:
Students will be divided into groups of 2 – 3. Each group will have 1 class period to research and create their flier utilizing Open Office.
Stations may be set up by each group to display their flier and its elements.
Detailed Teaching Sequence:
(Provide sufficient detail that would enable a substitute to effectively present this lesson. Bulleted statements are preferred)
• Students will sit at designated computers.
• The teacher will conduct a tutorial of Open Office while students follow along with their computer.
• An example of a flier will be presented.
• Students will be given the opportunity to ask questions concerning the Open Office or the assignment.
• Students will find pictures, charts, etc. to create their flier.
• Students will save their flier and upload it to the class Weebly website.
• Students will set up a demonstration station to display their flier and elements contained within.

Guided Practice/Independent Practice/Assessment Activities


Students will work collaboratively within a group of 2 – 3 students.
Students will create their work with regards to the provided rubric.

Closure:
Students will set up a demonstration table to display their flier and its elements. Fellow peers will be encouraged to write information about
each group’s flier and station. Questions will be encouraged. Also, following the presentations, the groups will fill out surveys concerning
their lesson pros and cons and also the most interesting fact they learned.
