    This project deals with the usage of LED bulbs in the Mayannur
    village of Thrissur district.
    OBJECTIVES : 1.To estimate the cost saving potential of LEDs
    2.To find out the factors which prevent people from shifting into
    LEDs
    3.To suggest some methods for the issues identified
    4.To make people aware about the need for saving energy
    METHODOLOGY : 1) Surveying and collection of data from the
    common houses of Mayannur.
    2)surveying and meeting the shopkeepers who are selling
    LEDs..
    OBSERVATION : From the surveys we observed that only 50%
    of people are using LEDs in their homes . Percentage of use of
    LEDs in their homes is 20% only.
    CONCLUSION : If the entire population uses 100% of

    LED for lighting purposes , a minimum of 45% of total


    energy can be saved.
