Whats Happening in 4th Grade

Reminders & Notes:

It is important that students are reading 20 minutes per night. Students can fill out their book it reading
log and bring back for a prize
Please sign and send back progress report envelope
This week is conference week! 4th grade has a tradition of student led conferences so your 4th grader
should come with you

October 3rd and 6th: Conferences
October 7th: No School (teacher in service day)
October 10th: Fundraiser packets due

Math: I can understand the value of digits in whole numbers, apply place value properties of
operations to solve multi-digit problems, and multiply with whole numbers to solve
problems.
Language Arts: I can demonstrate the correct use of words when writing, speaking, or
reading. (focus this week on adverbs)
Writing: I can produce and strengthen writing by planning, revising, and editing.
Reading: I can demonstrate a variety of comprehension strategies.
Science: I can recognize and apply knowledge of weather and weather patterns.
Social Studies: I can recognize how regions and culture are created by locations and
people. I can conduct research to locate information.
