Rundead VO Script Excerpt

Brief Story Background:

The Player-character, Dr. Horace, has been studying a cure for hair loss in an underground lab.
During a demonstration for tourists Horaces project exploded, releasing a poisonous gas that turned
everyone exposed into zombies (with very fabulous haircuts). Dr. Horace escapes the room with his
saucy assistant, Chloe. Through some unfortunate circumstances, Chloe and Horace become
separated by a pack of zombies, and Horace leaves Chloe to fend for herself. While trying to escape,
Dr. Horace runs into his boss, Director Delilah. She convinces him to track down the backup data for
all the current projects in the lab, which should be worth a fortune. On his way to the backup files,
Horace is harassed by his rival, Dr. Pitus--who tricks Horace into collecting zombies into a single room
to be used as an undead army!
At this point in the game, the player is now searching for the backup data while being guided by
Delilah via the laboratory intercom system.

There, in that room--the backup!

The door to the backup shuts on Horace - - still

HORACE:
The door locked!
DELILAH:
What?
HORACE:
Did you do that?
DELILAH:
No!
DELILAH:
There are other backups, keep looking!

Upon entering the second puzzle move

DELILAH:
There's someone else in the system.
HORACE:
Who?

DELILAH:
I don't know!
DELILAH:
But they're overriding my commands!

Another backup!
DELILAH:
Quick, grab it!

Upon trying to grab the backup Chloe reveals herself as the interference still

CHLOE:
Oh sorry Doc, did you need that?
HORACE:
Chloe! What are you doing?
CHLOE:
Pushing buttons.
HORACE:
You're interfering with important work.
CHLOE:

Upon exiting the first backup area move

DELILAH:
What's going on?
HORACE:
It is Chloe.
DELILAH:
She's alive?
HORACE:
She is vindictive.

Upon entering the final room.

DELILAH:
Theres the last backup!

Upon reaching the door to the last backup.

CHLOE:
Mine!
HORACE:
Chloe! Thats my lifes work!
CHLOE:
Your magical, turn everyone into zombies work?
HORACE:
I did not mean to make zombies!
CHLOE:

Upon walking out of the first room.

DELILAH:
The last backup is just north of your position.
HORACE:
Assuming Chloe does not find it first.
DELILAH:
Rightwhy is she doing this?

HORACE:
Um, my actions may have resulted in her entrapment by zombies.
DELILAH:
Oh...Did you apologize?
HORACE:
Well I tried to explain...
DELILAH:
Eeh, I'm guessing hair loss isn't your only roadblock with the ladies.

Upon entering the room with the backup.

DELILAH:
In that room!
Dialog_6a_3_Chloe!
Upon trying to get the backup, Chloe locks the door.

HORACE:
Chloe!
CHLOE:
Ooo--the last backup.
HORACE:
Chloe, cease!
CHLOE:
Maybe I'll sell it--or just break it.
HORACE:
No! My work!
Dialog_6a_4_Why?
Upon entering the hallway, as Chloe follows along.

CHLOE:
Where you going Horace?
HORACE:
Chloe, why do this?
CHLOE:
You left me for dead!

HORACE:
Conclusively not, you are alive.
CHLOE:
No thanks to you!
Dialog_6a_5_Dorkology
Upon entering the next puzzle room.

HORACE:
Chloe!
CHLOE:
I can't believe you'd abandon your faithful assistant.
HORACE:
You were a terrible assistant!
CHLOE:
You were a terrible boss...
CHLOE:
Sterilize the lab Chloe, don't mix sulfur dichloride and ethylene Chloe.
HORACE:
Sulfur dichloride and ethylene forms poisonous gas.
CHLOE:
"Whoo", just cause I didn't major in dorkology!

CHLOE:

CHLOE:
You could have been nicer!
HORACE:
You could have been punctual.
CHLOE:
Ha, you were late for your own zombie outbreak!

How odd, your punctuality coincided with the disaster.

CHLOE:
Wha...?!?!

Upon walking toward the next door, Chloe releases zombies into the room.

CHLOE:
Whoops...
HORACE:
Chloe! Disengage the zombies!
CHLOE:
Like you stopped them for me?
HORACE:
Chloe, I implore you...I'm getting a cramp.
CHLOE:
Tough!
HORACE:
Saving you was futile!
CHLOE:
Kinda like your situation now.
HORACE:
This is childish...
CHLOE:
This is poetic justice.
HORACE:

CHLOE:

HORACE:
You are right, I am wrong. I am sorry.

After Chloe unlocks the exit, Horace leaves the zombie-chase room.

CHLOE:
I'm coming out.
HORACE:

CHLOE:
So uh, this doesn't make us friends.
HORACE:
Concurrence.
CHLOE:
You had some good zombie-dodging moves though.
HORACE:
Thank you. How did you get away...before?
CHLOE:
Gave them the slip. They're not all that.
HORACE:
Hmm.

Upon entering the final room.

DELILAH:
Horace?
HORACE:
Director Delilah--I have Chloe and the backup.
DELILAH:
Oh...um, good. It's time to get out of here.
CHLOE:
"Concurrence."
HORACE:
Are you mocking me?
CHLOE:
"Are you mocking me?"

HORACE:
Hmm.
DELILAH:
Just get to the stairs guys.
