To Team Support Staff Livingston & whom it may concern,
I am writing in response to the recent advertisement showcased on 'indeed.com' for the position of
temporary food services assistant, as I am interested in applying for the role.
I feel this role will essential in helping me progress throughout my future career and will give me
the adequate skills required to both develop at a personal and professional level. This will be my
first working experience outside of the ones I have participated in during my school time.
During my time in high school I have participated in various curricular activities. One of which is
the school Buddying program aimed at developing responsibility and various other skills for an
individual. Throughout my time as a buddy I was assigned to supervise a class of younger pupils, I
was given the task to show the pupils different presentations every day in various topics to aid
them in their school life, be it showing them opportunities for jobs or advertising different school
clubs to join. This gave me the ability to successfully speak confidently in front of many people and
also gave a sense of responsibility as I was contributing vital information that may aid their futures.
Equally, my team-working skills were sturdily reinforced as working hand in hand with staff
ensured many different approaches to grab the students attention.
I have also learned to communicate and organise events excellently as a member of my 'Youth
and Philanthropy Initiative' (YPI) group, where we researched and cooperated with a chosen
charity to promote their ideals to others and to get them heard to the public. This required me to
work as a leader as assigning roles was a part of my duties, as well as documenting our journey
along the way. This also allowed me to multi-task with ease as writing a script, making a
presentation as well as doing a question and answer interview with the head of the charity was
relatively effortless to say the least. During this time I also learned to think "outside of the box" as I
had to challenge myself to create something different from other groups. This required me to take
in other member's ideas and also merge them in with my own, showing that I can work well with
others and again communicate efficiently. I had to also work with members individually to reinforce
their roles and take in feedback to further progress our project which aided me in developing
myself as a better leader and member.
I have attached my CV for more detailed experiences. I would be delighted if I had the chance to
meet in person to allow me to scope out this role even further. Please do not hesitate to call me on
07414976619. I look forward to hearing from you and I would like to thank you for your time,
commitment and attention for reading this.
Sincerely,
Ibrahim Aslam.
