At the end of fifty minutes class discussion, the students with 85% of
proficiency will be able to:
A. identify the uses of light and heat;
B. recognize the proper use of heat and lght; and
C. appreciates the use of light and heat by constructing a paragraph.

candles, firewood, flashlight, stars and
fireflies.

firewood, gas stove and oven.

B. Motivation
Class what will you feel if there is
sudden brown out during night?
- I feel afraid.
- I cant read if there is no light.
That is right! Did you try holding hot
utensils?

- We cant touch it in a longer time
because it is hot.

- The light is used in glowing and
shining our surroundings.

- The sources of light are sun and stars.

- The sources of light are electric light,
neon light, firewood or torch, and laser
light.
Correct! Based on the video, what is the
use of the light that comes from sun and
stars?
- The sun lights us every day and every
night.
- The stars shine our surroundings
during night.
That is right! What is the use of electric
light?
- The electric light is also used in
lighting our rooms especially during
night.
Correct! What is the use of the light that
comes from the firewood?
- Firewood is used a long time ago to
lighten pathways enable to see the
surroundings during night.
How about neon light?
- Neon light is used to light signage.
How is it worked?
- It is made from gas that glows when
electricity passes through it.

- Heat is released by gas stove.

doing?

- There are clothes that are hanged


outside.
- The clothes are hanged to dry them
using the heat of sun.

- It is used in drying the clothes.

E. Generalization
Now, who can give the uses of light by
looking at the picture?

- The girl is warming her hands using


that comes from the firewood.
- The heat is used in warming hands.
