Respiratory system

Pulmonary ventilation is the amount of air that enter and leave the lung in one minute. it is
about 6 minute/lit. Duering execise hyperventilation occurs.
In moderate exercise the respiratory rate is 30 time/min and the tidaL VOLUME increases to
2000 ml, thus the pulmonary ventilation in moderate exercise is
2000X30=60000 ml/min.
In sewere exercise increases upto 100 lit/min.
duering exercise the blood flow through the pulmonary capillaries increases because of this
diffusing capacity of the alveoli for oxygen increases. The diffusing capacity of oxygen is about
21 ml/min, in resting condition this increases to about 45 ml/min duering moderate exercise.
