Career opportunity for high school students

Gain hands-on experience in

health care and academic research!
OHSU's Department of Surgery is recruiting motivated
high school students to join our clinical research program
for the summer of 2017.

Criteria:

Open to current sophomores,

juniors, and seniors
Must be at least 15 years old by
June 1, 2017
GPA 3.0
US, Canadian, and International
applicants welcome.

Pair up with a University and Medical Student,

work in teams and complete a chart review study.

Requirements:

Program runs from the end of June until the end of August.

This Research Experience includes:

Weekly conferences on Vascular Surgery

Workshops on data visualization, biostatistics & researching resources

Job shadow opportunities in the Vascular Surgery clinic, the Vein clinic,
the OR, and the Vascular Lab

Interactions with patients in a prospective study out in the field

Support from the Principal Investigator to present completed work

at local, regional, and/ or national meetings

Enthusiasm for clinical research

and shadowing
Dedication to collaboration
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Commitment: 20-30 hours per week
