As we go around Caruhatan National High School, Ive noticed that their bulletin boards are
only few. Most of those are owned by RCY and SSC but there are still by Math and Filipino
Departments. Those bulletin boards were displayed in different places like near in the head office,
stairs near to the principals office and the like. All of those were readable, well presented and have a
good design. They can still improve this by putting challenge questions to involve learners and catch
their attention.

From among the board displays that you saw, pick the one that you got most
interested in. Evaluate it using the evaluation form below.

Your Analysis

Did the board display design reflect the likes/interests of its target audience? Why? or
Why not?

Yes, the design is nice and can get the interest of the students to look on a
particular bulletin board. And the information needed is enough.

Was the language used clear and simple for the target audience to understand? Why? or
Why not?

Yes, the grammar in the bulletin board is correct. And I think every student will
understand what the purpose of this bulletin board was.

What do you think was the purpose of the board display? Was it effective? Why? or Why
not?

The purpose of every bulletin board is to show the students the achievements of
every activity/events in their school and what are the upcoming events. I think yes, it is effective
because the students see what are the achievements of their classroom. And give some facts or
information .

What suggestions can you make?

Insert some challenge question that will answer by the students and to get their
attention to look on this bulletin board. In every bulletin board learners should be involve.

Based on your suggestions, purposed an enhanced version of the display board.

Your Reflections
1. Name at least 5 skills that a teacher should have to be able to come up with effective
board displays. Elaborate on why each skill is needed.
Cutting- to cut some letters or pictures
Creative- think some design that will make it interested
Resourceful- not all times you need to buy anything sometimes its nice to use
recycled materials.
Knowledgeable of the topic- of course you need to master first your topic to give the
reliable information in your bulletin board.
Drawing- sometimes its nice if you are good in arts.
2. Which of the skills do you already have? Recall your past experiences in making board
displays. How do you practice these skills?
Cutting- Im good in cutting letters or pictures
Resourceful- I want to use recycled materials rather than buying those things that are
needed in our bulletin board
3. Which skills do you still need to develop? Reflect on how you can improve on or acquire
these skills.
Drawing- as future teacher I need to develop may skill in drawing.
Creative- of course creativity in every activity or outputs.
Knowledge of the topic- most of the time I dont know some particular topic.
