Description of how to implement in the class: To introduce the study of famous people, I will
use the Lewis and Clark BrainPop video to engage the students. I will start the lesson asking
students if they know who Lewis and Clark are. After a short discussion, I will challenge the
students to see if our predictions were correct. Students will watch the Lewis and Clark video.
Students will also be asked to remember one interesting fact about Lewis and Clark.
After watching the video, the students will share their interesting fact. The teacher will list all the
responses on chart paper or the IWB. If there are not enough responses for each child(1:1ratio),
then continue until enough responses are provided. Each child will select one of the facts to create
an illustration. After the drawings have been completed with at least one sentence to support the
drawing, the teacher will use her camera to create a digital image. All images will be added to a
PowerPoint slideshow where the students will narrate their image. The PowerPoint will be
converted to a movie format and uploaded to the classroom blog.
