Who are they?

When did they begin?

What is their purpose?

Matt Soto: My mentor

Who is he?

As far as what we do, as far as exercise, fitness, movement, health, there are
really no programs out there to serve this population.
They need people who know whats going on with their diagnosis and
disabilities.
Goals:
Grow professionally / Become more educated
Making the facility bigger and better
Expanding the number of sites

Everyone was a mentor to me

My Project:

Gaining experience in the field


Study a variety of mental and physical diseases
Supporting clients socially and through their goals
Creating important relationships

What Ive learned:


Academic:

Learning new content (stretches, use of machines, new terminology)


Staying organized and tracking overall progress (S-O-A-P notes and goal sheets)
Sacrificing time / making up time

What Ive learned:


Social:

Using effective communication to interact with clients / different forms


Working towards a goal is a team effort
Being around age groups above mine

Importance of what I did / what I learned:
Most of the time the problems you have personally arent that big. Life could be much more challenging, it
recenters you and shows you that theres nothing to complain about.
Perfect transition from my last project at school
Hands-on experience
Put things into perspective, removes ignorance

Personal Growth:

Being aware of the world around me


Becoming less selfish and more selfless
Growing from mistakes / best way to learn
Professionalism

Final Thoughts:

College
Learn to appreciate everything, even the smallest things.
