Experiment No-8

Experiment Name : Introduction to Delta Demodulation system using hardware.

Objectives:

The objectives of this lab experiment are

01) To understand the theory of delta demodulation.

02) To understand the signal waveforms of delta demodulation.

03) Design and implementation of delta demodulator.

04) Measurement and adjustment of delta demodulator.

The operation theory of delta demodulation:

In Pulse code demodulation only certain discrete values are allowed for the demodulating
signals. The modulating signal is sampled, as in other forms of pulse demodulation. But any
sample falling within a specified range of values is assigned a discrete value. Each value is
assigned a pattern of pulses and the signal transmitted by means of this code. The electronic
circuit that produces the coded pulse train from the demodulating waveform is termed a coder or
encoder. A suitable decoder must be used at thereceiver in order to extract the original
information from the transmitted pulse train.
Equipments:

01) DCS 6000-4 Delta modulation modulator board.

02) A Digital oscilloscope.
