3,02 PHEPARATION

I, Examine substrata and verify thai surface plane docs not vary more than 6 mm,
2, Install control joints where Pavers UOlH restraining surfaces such as perimeter walls,
curbs, columns, and comers; and directly over cold joints and control joints in structura I
surfaces, and elsewhere as indicated or inferred on Drawings.
3, Before plac.;ing mortar on concrete surface, clean surface of grease. din and debris, or
other IIIatcri a I that would affect bond, Wet concrete slab surface and apply slurry bond
coal to base slab substrata.
<1, Before placing mortar bed Oil substrata. place single layer of specified bond breaker
whoro shown on tho Drawings.
5, Apply mortar setting bed in uniform layer, approximately 25 rnrn thick 'while slurry coat
is liquid before surface dries; rod and compact mortar setting bed.
6, Before placing pavers on a green or wet screed bed, apply slurry bond coal to monar bed
using a flat trowel; or apply slurry bond coat to back of each paver just prior 10 placing Or)

7, Place pavers in wet slurry COal before surface dries; maintain uniform joints.
