English Class Rules & Expectations

Hello! Welcome to English! Please read the policies and procedures for the 01-2017 06-2017 cycle. Read
them together, then sign and date the bottom portion and return. This is a graded assignment; if returned on
time, the first recorded mark will be an A.
Course general aim
The student will practice the English language in the accomplishment of elementary interactive and proactive
functions through the exchange of information in daily life situations, resulting in the development of the four
communicative skills (oral and written production, reading and listening comprehension), showing in at all
times, attitudes of interest, respect, responsibility, tolerance and autonomy.
Required Supplies
Three-ring binder or a notebook divided in four sections
Binder dividers (4) to divide your work into specified categories; or tags to divide the notebook
Folder.
Pens in 4 different colors
Color pencils
Index cards (for vocab flashcards) or the cell phone
If you choose to use a notebook you will need a block of feint ruled sheets
Classroom Rules
No food -- there is scheduled time for lunch;
Water only -- drinks other than water will be taken and returned at the end of class;
No cell phones, no texting if I see it, I take it till the end of class, with the proper observations on the
assistance list.
All other school rules apply
Classroom Behavior/ Participation
I expect that you be well behaved. Good behavior means:
Sitting in your desk working on the warm-up activity when the bell rings;
Coming to class prepared
Raising your hand to contribute to the discussion or to ask a question;
Working independently when assigned to do so;
Staying in your assigned seat 99% of the time;
Displaying respectful behavior (to yourself, to me, and to the students around you).
Late Work Policy
This policy is easy to remember:
Late homework = - 1 each day that it is late.
Late class work = 0 Just as employers do not accept late work from their employees; I do not accept
late work from my students. Assignments are due DURING THE PERIOD that students are in my class,
not by the end of the day.
Academic Dishonesty
Academic dishonesty includes plagiarism, cheating, or submitting another persons material as ones own
violates school policy and is unacceptable in this class and in the academic community in general. Any act of
academic dishonesty will result in severe negative consequences including but not limited to, a lower grade in
the class, an automatic F in the class, and/or expulsion from the class. Whenever you draw on the ideas or
language of another writer, you must clearly indicate your source.
Tardy/Unprepared Students
I follow the schools tardy policy. This means that if you enter my class after the bell rings (5 minutes
tolerance), you are tardy and after 3 of them, you will have an absence. If you are not prepared for class and
you have to go back to your locker to retrieve something, this is a tardy. There is absolutely no leaving my
classroom in the first or last 10 minutes of class.
Pre-arranged and Excused Absences
A pre-arranged absence is an absence that is arranged in advance. If you are an athlete or involved in other
traveling activities such as music you will have to arrange with your teachers when you are going to be
absent.
A student who has an excused absence has as many days as he/she was gone in which to complete the
assignment(s) he/she missed. However, a student who was present for a paper or project assignment and
then was gone for one day of the five he/she had to complete the paper will not receive extra time to
complete his/her project.
Unexcused Absences
A student who has an unexcused absence may not turn in work for credit. If a student thinks his/her absence
will be excused at a later date (if a parent was out of town or a doctors note was forgotten at home, etc.) the
policy for excused absences applies (see above). Students who are suspended from school or removed from
the classroom for behavior problems will not be given the opportunity to make up missed work.

Hola! Bienvenidos a la clase ingls! Por favor lea las polticas y procedimientos para el cuatrimestre 01-2017

Objetivo general del curso
El estudiante practicara la lengua inglesa en la realizacin de funciones interactivas y transactivas
elementales mediante el intercambio de informacin en situaciones de la vida cotidiana, a travs del
desarrollo de las cuatro habilidades comunicativas (produccin oral y escrita, comprensin lectora y auditiva),
mostrando en todo momento actitudes de inters, respeto, responsabilidad, tolerancia y autonoma.

Si usted elige usar una cuaderno, necesitar un block de hojas rayadas
Reglas de la clase
No comida - hay hora programada para el almuerzo;
Slo agua - se tomarn y devolvern bebidas distintas del agua al final de la clase;
Sin telfonos celulares, sin mensajes de texto - si lo veo, lo retiro hasta el final de la clase, con las
observaciones adecuadas en la lista de asistencia.
Todas las dems reglas de la escuela se aplican
Comportamiento / Participacin en el Aula
Espero que se comporten bien. Buen comportamiento significa:
Sentado en su escritorio trabajando en la actividad de introduccion cuando suena la campana;
Llegar a clase preparado
Levantar la mano para contribuir a la discusin o para hacer una pregunta;
Trabajar independientemente cuando se le asigna;
Estar en su asiento asignado el 99% del tiempo;
Mostrar comportamiento respetuoso (consigo mismo, a m, ya los estudiantes que te rodean).
Poltica de entregas de trabajo tardas
Esta poltica es fcil de recordar:
Tarea tarde= - 1 cada da de demora.
Trabajo de clase entregado tarde = 0
** Al igual que los empleadores no aceptan trabajos retrasados de sus empleados, no acepto trabajo
retrasado de mis estudiantes. Los trabajos asignados DURANTE EL PERIODO DE CLASE se entregan durante la
clase, no al final del da o en la siguiente clase.
Deshonestidad acadmica
La deshonestidad acadmica que incluye el plagio, el engao o el uso de material de otra persona como
propio viola la poltica de la escuela y es inaceptable en esta clase y en la comunidad acadmica en general.
Cualquier acto de deshonestidad acadmica resultar en graves consecuencias negativas incluyendo, pero
no limitado a, un grado ms bajo en la clase, un "F" o 50% automtico en la clase, y/o la expulsin de la
clase. Cada vez que se copian ideas o lenguaje otro escritor, debe indicar claramente su fuente.
Retardos
Sigo la poltica sobre retardos de la escuela. Esto significa que si usted entra en mi clase despus de que la
campana suene (5 minutos de tolerancia), usted llego tarde y despus de 3 de ellos, usted tendr una falta.
Si usted no est preparado para la clase y usted tiene que volver a su casillero para recuperar algo, esto es
un retardo. No hay absolutamente ninguna salida de mi aula en los primeros o ltimos 10 minutos de clase.
Ausencias preestablecidas y justificadas
Una ausencia pre-arreglada es una ausencia que se arregla por adelantado. Si usted es un atleta o est
involucrado en otras actividades de viaje tales como msica, tendr que concertar con sus maestros cuando
va a estar ausente.
Un estudiante que tiene una falta justificada tiene tantos das como l / ella se fue en el cual completar la
tarea que l / ella no entrego a tiempo. Sin embargo, un estudiante que estuvo presente cuando se asign un
trabajo o proyecto y luego se fue deber entregar el trabajo a su vuelta no recibir tiempo extra para
completar su proyecto.
Faltas no justificadas
Un estudiante que tiene una falta no justificada no puede entregar su trabajo para obtener crdito. Si un
estudiante piensa que su falta ser justificada en una fecha posterior (si un padre estaba fuera de la ciudad o
una nota del doctor fue olvidada en casa, etc.) se aplica la poltica para faltas justificadas (vase arriba). Los
estudiantes que sean suspendidos de la escuela o retirados del saln de clases por problemas de conducta no
tendrn la oportunidad de compensar el trabajo perdido.
