Sinabung not National Disaster,BNPB says - The
Narional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) emphasized
hat the Mont Sinabungs eruption in north sumatra was a
regional and nasionl disster.BNPB chief spokesman Sutopo
Purwo Nugroho said the karo and north sumatra region
administstor were stil running normally and nothing had
paralyzed the regional aministration.Despite almost 95
percent of the assistance being from the central
goverment,this is not a national disaster , he told antara
news agency.Event in the post-disaster phase, th central
goverment will stil bee involved in rehabilitation and
reconstuction. Sutopo said the problem eith the
MT.Sinabung eruotion is the absence of a regional
Dissaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) in Karo regency
