BCEE 451 Construction Engineering


(Course Project)

Research a construction engineering process, technique or method analyzing its use on an on-
going or very recently completed project. At a minimum, the following should be done:
Describe the process/technique/method highlighting the sequence of activities and the
equipment utilized.
Describe the process/technique/information using some technical information / theory.
Get feedback from site personnel on the suitability of the process/technique/method.
Also, get feedback on limitations of the process/technique/method and the necessary
conditions for proper implementation.
Highlight critical tests and inspections associated with the process/technique/method
Compare the process/technique/method with an alternative highlighting its strengths and
weaknesses.
Provide visual aids showing aspects of the process/technique/method as it is being
implemented.

Additional Notes

Group Sizes: groups should each have approximately 7 members. You are responsible for getting
yourself into a group and the work should be divided among group members. At least one group
member should be familiar with an ongoing or recently completed construction project that can
be referred to in analyzing the process.

Participation: all group members must make an effort to participate in the project. Failure to
participate will result in a lower grade based on anonymous feedback from group members.

Grading: The final grade will be comprised of a grade for the submission and a grade for the
presentation. All group members should be able to answer questions at the presentation.
