GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Lembaga Kebijakan Pengadaan Barang/Jasa Pemerintah (LKPP) is stated at

Kompleks Rasuna Epicentrum, Jl. Epicentrum Tengah Lot 11 B, Jakarta Selatan,
Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta 12940, Indonesia. The internship started from July
18th, 2016 to August 26th, 2016 with around seven and a half hours (7,5 hours).
The internship was done during working days, from Monday until Friday.

At the first day of internship, Ms. Yeyen and Mrs. Angky from the Human
Resources division gave the general information about Lembaga Kebijakan
Pengadaan Barang/Jasa Pemerintah (LKPP). Before more explanation from
them, we (apprentices) were welcomed by Mr. Fendy, the head of Bureau Legal,
Information System, and Human Resources. Then, Mr. Angky continued to give
explanation related to LKPP such as LKPP profile, vision and mission,
organization structure, duty and function of LKPP and regulation for apprentices
while conducting internship program. Next, Ms. Yeyen asked me to join the
Public Relation Division. In case, the Public Relation division needs a translator
to translate LKPP website and other documents (Indonesia English).

This internship program was conducted around six weeks. Most of all, the writer
was asked to translate a content which is in the LKPP website www.lkpp.go.id
like profile (background of company, vision & mission, organization structure,
duty & function), articles, press release, news related with LKPP. I was not only
asked to translate but also I was asked to do some activities in accordance with my
English skills such as being announcer, replaying letter addressed to foreign
client, making announcement in English, proof reading (grammar checking) for
some documents.

 report for LKPP

Here the explicit result of my internship program:

Week 1 (July 18th, 2016 July 22nd, 2016)

On my first week, I was asked by Mbak Resa to translate LKPPs
website in accordance with my education basic, English Department. In
fact, LKPP is lack of human resource who has good English skill. I was
asked to translate the sub-menu of website from Bahasa Indonesia to
English.
In the first week, I translated the sub menu: Profile. This sub menu
consists of background of LKPP, history of LKPP, Vision and Mission of
LKPP, Duty and Function of LKPP, Organization Structure of LKPP, List
of LKPPs Achievement. In doing my job, I found difficulty in
understanding technical term in politic. The problem solution was by
asking the seniors and googling it in the internet.
Week 2 (July 25th, 2016 July 29th, 2016)
I continued to translate the website. This week, I moved to another
sub-menu called Publikasi. Here my job was to translate press release
related to LKPP. This week was not only for translating website but also
doing other activities. I was asked by Mas Enggar to help him to reply
letter from company in Holland. Then I was asked by Mbak Ressa to
formulate booklet for the 7th International Public Procurement
Conference. Then, I was also asked by Mbak Fariz to translate alur e
katalog and e purchasing tanpa negosiasi from Bahasa Indonesia to
English. When I tried to do my job on translating alur e katalog and e
purchasing tanpa negosiasi, I found difficulty in understanding these
steps. It was become important because a translator should know what he
are going to translate to produce a good translation. The solution was to
ask the procedure of alur e katalog and e purchasing tanpa
negosiasi to the expert in Catalog division. Catalog division is a division
where the job is to create, control, and maintain LKPP e catalog. By

 knowing the right procedure of alur e katalog and e purchasing
tanpa negosiasi, I could translate it better and easier.
Week 3 (August 1st, 2016 August 5th, 2016), Week 4 (August 8th, 2016
August 12th, 2016), Week 5 (August 15th, 2016 August 19th, 2016)
Basically, these three weeks, I continued to translate news article
on www.lkpp.go.id. In fact, there are 108 news article that must be
translated by me. Each day I could translate articles in average 5-6 articles.
So far, I produced 75-95 translated texts. In addition, there were few days
that I only worked for 4 hours) in condition to celebrate Indonesia
Independence day.
On July 18th, 2016. I was asked by Mbak Fariz to do proof reading
(grammar checking) on Institutional Analysis JICA and LKPP. This
institutional analysis is a short paper for multilateral between Japan
International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and LKPP. This paper consists
of some Company profile, regulations, and description each party involved
in this cooperation.
On July 19, 2016. I was asked by Mas Enggar to be a morning
announcer. In LKPP, before we start to work and when the working hours
was ended. There is an announcement as a thank you note to all officials
and all customers who had participated.
Week 6 (August 22nd, 2016 August 26th, 2016)
On August 22nd, 2016, I still translated news on www.lkpp.go.id.
After break time, I was asked by Mbak Ajeng to help her to make
summary on e procurement award since 2012 until 2015.
On August 23rd, 2016, I was asked by Mbak Ajeng to collect data
about public information on www.lkpp.go.id and in the future, it will be
uploaded on Documentation and Information Management Officer (PPID)
website.
On August 24th, 2016. I was invited by her to go to the floor 8 to
meet Mas Dede who is IT Engineer. He was asked to guide me in
uploading files in the website of PPID.
On August 25th, I continued to upload some files and translate some
articles on the website and the next day (26/08), I made an internship
report for LKPP as requirement for finishing my internship program.
