Math Lesson Plan #7- Math Total Skip Counting Review
LESSON PLAN OBJECTIVES - Students will: (within this lesson)

By the end of the assignment...


The students will be able to apply their abilities of counting to count forward
by different numbers (1s, 2s, 5s, and 10s).
The students will be able to demonstrate their number sense abilities to
count from a random starting point and onward.
The students will recognize the significance behind counting and the ability
behind having a strong number sense.
The students will apply their counting knowledge across multiple subjects
and create connections between the content of each subject.
The students will demonstrate their ability to count backwards from a given
set of numbers.

By the end of the lesson...


The students will demonstrate their abilities in skip counting.
The students will apply the strategies learned in class to help them solve
the problems.
The students will create connections between the counting activities and
the material being presented.

PROCEDURE

Introduction (20 min.)

Welcome the students and gather their attention.


The class will go through the PowerPoint as a quick review of all the
concepts that the class has worked through up to this point.
Explain that today will be used to review everything that we have done in
math to this point and then practice those skills. The teacher should
reconfirm that the worksheets will be marked and that the students are to
take their time and be careful with their responses.

Body (55 min.)

Brain Break #1: (7 minutes)

Learning Activity #1: (20 minutes)
The students will be provided a set of activity sheets. The sheets will be
constructed to reflect the different skills that the students have been
working on to this point thus far. The teacher will circulate and help
students where necessary with the concepts, and even perhaps pull a small
group of students to work privately with at the back of the classroom.
Brain Break #1: (8 minutes)

Learning Activity #2: (20 minutes)
The students will have the rest of the period to work on the worksheet. The
students who finish first will be encouraged to continue with the challenge
a partner activity somewhere in the classroom.
The teacher will continue to work with the small group and formatively
assess other students through conversations.

Closure (5 min.)

Have the students clean up the materials and prepare for dismissal.
