Pre-emptive Tasks for Teacher

Teacher will prepare videos prior to class


Teacher will prepare discussion points prior to class
Teacher will be clear of direction of unit prior to class

PROCEDURE

Introduction (10min.)

Welcome students into the class and gather their attention


Quickly discuss what it was like on the first days the students arrived to the
school. Write down any vocabulary and associated feelings on the board.
Transition into body

Body (30 min.)

Learning Activity #1: (XX minutes)


Show both videos to students and discuss elements that were in the videos
that made it effective. What would make a person want to go there?
Write down key things (locations, people, things) that the videos included
On the board, brainstorm things that a video of GS Lakie might include for
future ESL students
As a class, brainstorm things that we as a class will need prior to making
our own video.
Combine all the lists to create a word board for the students
Closure (10 min.)

Have students provide one thing that they might want to do to help
contribute to the video as an exit slip.
