Interview Questions:

1. What is your philosophy of teaching?


2. Out of these three words, what is the most important word to you
and why? Responsibility, Relationships, and Rigor?
3. How will you help a student who is having a hard day and acting
out?
4. What experiences have you had in a stressful situation and how did
you act in that situation?
5. What experiences have you had that made you work with someone
else that you didnt get along with? What did you do in that situation?

Qualifications:

1. Good communication
2. Does things with out having to be asked
3. Collaborates with the teacher on effective ways to teach the student
4. Seeks to build a relationship with the students
5. Humble and willing to learn

Survival Kit

Take 5 Candy bar- just incase you get stressed out and need 5 minutes to take a break a
re-group.
Sticky notes- to help write notes on what you need to do. Or write little notes to the students.
Calendar with important dates on it- help the para keep track of what is going on each day.
Fruity gum- it helps to relive stress or anxiety.
Deodorant- incase things get heated and you need something to cool you down.

General Guidelines
1. Put the students and their needs first.
2. Be open and willing to talk with the teacher if you are ever angry or
frustrated with something.
3. Come to class on time or if you know that you will be late or gone,
inform the teacher a head of time.
4. Be kind and patient with the students at all times. Avoid getting
frustrated.
5. If you are having a hard day and need a break, let the teacher know
that you are just going to step out of the classroom for a minute.
