1. Deaf Blind Grant Application for Funds

RATIONALE
Standard 3 of the ISLLC Educational Leadership Policy Standards identifies that an effective
leader obtains, allocates, aligns, and efficiently utilizes human, fiscal and technological
resources. Kansas Deaf-Blind grant provides funding for children who are deaf-blind certified.
These funds help to provide needed equipment, services, or toys that contribute to the learning
environment and needs of the child. I worked to get a student certified deaf-blind so he could
access the grant funds. Once the student obtained the deaf-blind certification, I worked with the
family to identify needed equipment and services and wrote a justification for the each requested
item. I submitted the requested items with the justification for each. We were approved for all
the items requested. I believe that the deaf-blind grant application request form demonstrates
standard 3 because I am obtaining fiscal resources to help support a quality student learning
environment.
