Learning Experience: 100 day crowns

Programming Purpose: To celebrate the 100th day of school and my creating

crowns with 100 dots

Objective:
Children will grasp the math concept 10 x 10 = 100 as the crown will be made of 10 strip of
paper with 10 dots on each strip to equal 100

Materials:
(9) Bingo dabbers
(29) crowns made from border paper
(290) strips of white paper
(1) Stapler

Opening (Introduction)
I will discuss this while the children are at circle and set up the center

Body (Content)

Get each student to write their name on the back of their crown
Give each student a bingo dabber and explain to them make 10 dots per strip
 of paper
Encourage them to make patterns and use different colours
Allow the crowns to dry
Staple all the crown band around the childs head
Staple the strips of paper together to create a crown

Closing (Ending)
Thanks each child for participating and send them off to another center

Transition

Tell the students to wash their hands before the go play at another center

Overall Group Learning Experience Evaluation

What worked during this learning experience? Why?

What was great was that I had everything set up at and I had enough resources to use. The
crowns were pre made as the paper was precut this saved a lot of time. The children had a lot
of fun making the crowns and said they felt like royalty.

What did not work during this learning experience? Why?

The main issue was that the bingo dabbers ink was very strong and would stain the table so I
should have placed a garbage bag on it to avoid this. Some of the bingo dabbers were very
runny and would bleed the paper. I removed the runny ones after I realized this

What might you do differently in the future?

Next time would add stickers or foam pieces to have a variety of options for the children to
decorate.
