1.1 Whats on this CD-ROM?
RINA Rules for the Classication of Ships, 2016 edition. Subsequent Rule Variations are

2 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Computer: Pentium 166 MHz or higher with at least 32 Mb (64 Mb recommended) of
RAM and CD-ROM driver 8X or higher
Software: An installed copy of Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista,
Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x or above
Adobe Reader 5.0 or above
Disk Space: Maximum 250 Mb
Display: Any colour display with minimum 800x600 resolution
Mouse: Any pointing device supported by Windows
3 USING THE CD-ROM
3.1 Start-up
Insert the disk into your CD-ROM drive.
The CD will automatically start in a few seconds (if the CD does not start automatically,
double click on the CD-ROM /start.pdf file in Windows Explorer).
The CD-ROM start window is shown.
It is possible to browse RINA Rules, this User Guide, the User License.
If download is chosen the pdf les of the Rules for the classication of ships will be
copied to the local prole.

3.2 RINA Rules PDF files

To browse the RINA Rules, use the bookmark displayed in the left-hand area of the Adobe
Reader window, following the links (in blue) in the Rules text and/or following the links (in blue)
on the RINA Rules page header.
In the header of every Rules page, the current position in the RINA Rules is indicated. The current
position is formed by a set of links separated by commas. The first one (containing Pt) takes
you back to the General Index of the Rules. By clicking on the second link (containing Ch) it
is possible to view the Chapter Index relative to the current part. Lastly, selecting the last link
(containing Sec) it is possible to view the Section Index relative to the current chapter.

In this way it is possible to access any part of the Rules.

For further information on RINA Rules PDF usage, reference should be made to the Adobe
Reader on-line help.
