3. What colleges will you be applying to and why?

I have applied to UCLA, UCSD, UCB, UCI, Cal State Pomona, Cal State Long Beach, San

Diego State University, and California State University Northridge.

My reason for applying to these universities is that they are all well known for their engineering

degrees and offer course and after school activities that peek my interest. I have visited most of

these Universities as well and have found their student community to be lively and hardworking

two characteristics important when I was conducting a personal college match survey.

4. What do you want to major in?

The major I have set my eyes on is know set as Aerospace engineering. Since a young age I

have been fascinated by planes, jets, and rockets and I would like to further understand the

science behind them and hopefully work to develop one myself.

5. What career do you want to pursue and why?

I would like to pursue a career in SpaceX because it is the current leader in aerospace

engineering and innovation in part due to its amazing founder Elon Musk.

6. Please list your top five qualities; with explanations and examples.

Athletic- Over the past four years I have developed a passion for sports that I had not found at a

younger age. For the first time in my life I was now a member of a soccer team and a captain

for my Track and Field team.

Caring- I believe my friends and family are a huge part of my success and in return I try to help

them out when any opportunity arises, even if it's as simple as a car ride home. I also have a
deep passion for dogs and cats. I have gone out of my way to buy food for stray animals in

order for me to feed them at least one good meal.

Confident- With the inclusion of sports in my lifestyle I have developed a more positive outlook

about myself, and with that I have become a better public speaker and I have been more

outgoing.

Well Read- Having read a plethora of books and articles from around the world helps in

discussions and social activities which is important for networking.

Quick learner- I am able to pick up new concepts at a fast pace, and this is helpful as student

and future aerospace student who will be exposed to new concepts.

7. What makes you unique and different than any other student?

I believe my participation in the LAPD cadet program has left me with a strict regime and

outlook on life that is not commonly found.

8. Discuss any struggles that you've overcome? (personal and academic; include both).

I believe my parents immigration status has been a struggle that overlaps both my personal life

and academic life. When my father was deported I struggled to find a balance between school

work and supporting my sister and mother with maintaining the house.

9. What is your vision for the world?

The world is what you make it but you must learn traits and skills that allow you to mold your

perfect world.

10. What is your philosophy of life (thus far)?

Enjoy life when you can, and work hard when work is due.

It is a feeling of satisfaction only felt at the end of ones life due to living a life of giving back to

your community while satisfying personal life goals.

16. How do you define success, joy, and happiness?

To me success, joy, and happiness are all in one and cannot be defined separately. Success,

joy, and happiness to me fulfilling my life goal of becoming a licensed engineer and providing

my immediate family with a higher standard of living.
