To Whom It May Concern:

I am pleased to write to you on behalf of Rachel Christensen, who is applying for a

position in your district as an elementary teacher. Rachel has just successfully
completed a yearlong intensive student teaching experience through the University of
Utah Teacher Licensure Program.

As soon as you meet Rachel, you will realize that she is an energetic and an enthusiastic
person. Rachel consistently carries that high level of energy and enthusiasm into her
teaching practice. The students in her 5 th grade class at Valley Crest Elementary clearly
responded well to her teaching style, and she formed strong positive caring relationships
with her students throughout the course of the year. I believe that the strong bonds that
she developed with each student, coupled with the implementation of her well-
developed classroom management plan, created a positive classroom evident that was
conducive to student learning.

Throughout her student teaching experience, Rachel consistently created and

implemented engaging lessons for her students. In addition, Rachel was very reflective
on both her practice and the needs of her students, and subsequently adjusted her
instruction accordingly. Rachel has a growth-mindset, and I fully expect her to be a
lifelong learner and continue to grow professionally throughout her career.

Without reservation, I would highly recommend Rachel for an elementary teaching

position in your district. She certainly would be an asset to any faculty. If I can provide
additional information to support Rachels application please feel free to contact me at
kerry.herman@utah.edu, or (801) 550-4469.

Sincerely,

Kerry Herman
