Dear Hiring Manager,

Please accept this letter and resume as my application for a first year social
services field placement. I am very interested in this position because I feel that it
will give me great experience and expand my knowledge.
As indicated in my resume, I just finished completing my last semester in the
Social Service Worker Diploma at Durham College. My experience so far in this
program has provided me with a broad range of knowledge and theory related to
various aspects of the social services. Some of the specific courses I have taken
included interviewing skills, field placement as well as record keeping and report
writing.
In addition to my coursework, I would like to highlight two of my work
experiences that I feel have provided me with other relevant skills to be successful
in placement. For example, I have been working at McDonalds since 2012 I have
served a variety of customers as well work in a team in facilitating an easy flow
environment. With the constant change in schedules each week I am able to adjust
to the flexibility of the work place. Also in addition I worked in a daycare over the
summer of 2015 for July and August where I was required to design and implement
activities for children. Figure out activities on the spot and adapt to the variety of
classrooms with multiple different children. Lastly, I had to communicate with
parents on the childrens day and progress as well communicate with the staff and
supervisor.
