I am excited to submit my resume and application for a business or technology
teaching position at either the middle school or high school level. I discovered this
opportunity through the Teach Iowa website. My resume is enclosed for your review.
In December of 2015, I intend on graduating from Simpson College's Masters of
Education program. Currently, I am student teaching business and technology
courses at Carlisle High School where I have come to understand and strengthen
what my teaching style and philosophy is. By the end, I will have clocked over 15
weeks with one group of students, teaching over half that time bell-to-bell. Through
student teaching and working as an associate at DeSoto Intermediate School, I have
honed my skills in classroom management, lesson/unit creation, multiple delivery
methods of content, and overall rapport with students. While at Carlisle, I was able
to create my own lesson plans aligned with the Core, deliver the content, and
assess students on overall mastery. For these lessons, I was also able to construct
differentiated activities for those on IEPs or 504 plans.
It would be a pleasure to work in a respected community where associates are
valued and offered to work in a creative team environment. It would also be a
delight to work for a district who is committed to be an outstanding partner with the
community.
