Instructions for use This kit can be used with any patient to work on strengthening the hands, arms, and/or
of kit core; cognitive elements can also be added for an additional challenge. To work on
hand and arm strengthening, the patient can squeeze the trigger on the spray bottle,
flip the dish soap bottle (pronate/supinate) and squeeze water from it, hold the handle
on the laundry detergent bottle with one hand and pour water into the cap, and hold
the dust pan with one hand and sweep beads into it using the other hand. To work on
core strengthening, the patient can spray water onto the table and use dynamic sitting
balance to lean and wipe it off, or can be forced to lean to sweep the beads on the
table.

How kit can be - More or less water can be added to the dish soap, laundry detergent, or spray
graded for low and bottles to increase or decrease weight
high level patients - Patients can just work on pouring, or can be asked to measure out a certain
amount of laundry detergent
- To increase or decrease the need for core strength when wiping or sweeping,
the patients table can be:
raised or lowered
brought closer or further away
put in front of or off to the sides
- More or less beads can be used to increase or decrease the requirements of
the sweeping task
- Patients can be given a time-limit for sweeping all of the beads to increase
expectations
- Patients can be asked only to sweep up one color of bead (ex. Only sweep the
blue beads)
- Patients can have the supplies set-up for them (pre-filled) or can be asked to
twist the tops of the bottles on and off and fill them from their sink
