What is a school?

A school is an institution where people from different

backgrounds, sex and culture meet in order to gain
knowledge.
What are rules?

These are set of principles governing an institution for better

standard achievement for the people.
The reasons for having rules in a school are as follows:

to regulate the school

to maintain order and discipline of the students in the school
to maintain law in the school
to create awareness among students
to improve the academic standard of the students in the
school
it creates uniformity amongst students
school rules enhance disciplining bad behavior and ensuring
a safe environment
it promotes conducive environment for learning
it helps to regulate the students behavior
school rules outlines rights and responsibilities for teachers
and students
It helps the students get used to adhering to policies and
procedures that they will face as an employee once they
reach adulthood.

What are the disadvantages of school rules?

 Harsh school rules instills fear in the students mind

What are the effects of school rules on gender education?

School rules causes stigmatization amongst students

It brings about gender bias
It creates differences when a female child is asked to plait
