TO MY NEW CLIENTS:

A very warm welcome to you.

Congratulations on your courageous decision to take care of yourself and seek some professional
guidance!

If you have been on a waiting list for a long time, I apologise for the delay. Unfortunately, it has
been extremely difficult to keep up with the demand. A few important points about the office
policy:

In the winter, for your safety, please park ONLY in street spaces and NOT in the sloping
driveway. It can become dangerously icy and slippery, in spite of ongoing efforts to keep
it safe. Let us prevent falls and concussions! Thank you!

I am usually available outside of office hours for any urgent matters of my clients. My
goal is to be consistently responsive to your needs. I will make time to see you on an
evening/weekend if you are in urgent need and I am not able to accommodate you during
my regular office hours. (Clients are never billed for this service.)

If you would like extra appointments and want to be called for cancellations, please get
on our cancellation list and I will do my best to get you in.

If there are any changes to your OHIP card or number, including a change of address ,
please let us know IMMEDIATELY so that OHIP covers my psychotherapy services and
avoids us having to bill you for them. Thank you in advance for your co-operation.

Your regular appointments will be at the same time and same day every 2 weeks,
regardless of any holidays. It is your responsibility to mark these in your calendar.
Please leave a time cushion for getting to your appointment on time. Your appointment
time is reserved exclusively for you. My psychotherapy services are covered by OHIP
when you are here. OHIP does not cover telephone services and these will be billed at
the approximate current OHIP rate of $170/hour. OHIP also does not cover missed
appointment fees. When 2 business days notice of a cancellation is provided by you, no
fee will ever be charged. When less notice is given, a fee of $130 will be owed to us
unless we can fill the appointment. We often can find a replacement because of high
demand (and will work hard to do so) but this is more likely successful with more notice.
In these cases, the fee will be decreased from $120 to $35. If fees pose financial
hardship, please talk to me personally so that we can work something out.
