1. How McDonald does organized his essay? This essay is organized by


discussing one point of view
What period of time would you estimate is covered in this essay? Past
time

2. What clues lead up to the revelation that the boy is blind? The boy
wanted to know how the fish look like then he realized the boy wore
those glasses because he was blind.
Why does it take McDonald so long to realize it? McDonald took so long
to realize the boy was blind because the boy never told him he was
blind and he was fishing so normal.

3. Notice the way McDonald chooses and adjust some of the words he
uses to describe the fish to the boy in paragraphs 33-36. Why does he
do this? He adjust some of his words so he could understand and try to
imaging the fish size and looks.
How does he organize his description to the fish so that the boy can
visualize it better? He tells the, fish size, weight, color and his
characteristics and how beautiful it was
4. By the end of the essay, we know much more about the boy beyond
that he is blind, but after the initial description, McDonald
characterizes him only indirectly, as the essay unfolds, what do we
learn about the boy? I learned from the boy that even if youre blind
you could still see things. And how does the author convey this
knowledge? The author appreciated what the boy didnt have

5. McDonald tells much of his experience through dialogue. What does


this dialogue add to the narration? The dialogue help you understand
every step of story
What would have been lost had McDonald not used dialogue? The
details would have been lost if McDonald wouldnt have used dialogue.
6. What is the connotation of the word view in the title? For the word
bridge? The connotation of the word view could be something you
realize or seen
