INTRODUCTION TO PHOTOSHOP :

Adobe Photoshop is a raster graphics editor developed and published by Adobe

Systems for macOS and Windows. Photoshop was created in 1988
by Thomas and John Knoll. Since then, it has become the de facto industry standard
in raster graphics editing, such that the word "photoshop" has become a verb as in "to
Photoshop an image," "photoshopping" and "photoshop contest", though Adobe
discourages such use. It can edit and compose raster images in multiple layers and
supports masks, alpha compositing and several colour models including RGB, CMYK,
CIELAB, spot colour and duotone.
Photoshop has vast support for graphic file formats but also uses its
own PSD and PSB file formats which support all the aforementioned features. In
addition to raster graphics, it has limited abilities to edit or render text, vector
graphics (especially through clipping path), 3D graphics and video. Photoshop's
featureset can be expanded by Photoshop plug-ins, programs developed and
distributed independently of Photoshop that can run inside it and offer new or
enhanced features.
Photoshop is the leading professional image - editing program, released by Adobe.
Photoshop is useful for both creating and editing images to be used in print or online.
Easy to use, but full of high-quality features, Photoshop is the best choice for any
image manipulation job.

BASIC TOOLS IN PHOTOSHOP AND THEIR FUNCTION:
HOW PHOTOSHOP HELP IN EDUCATION OF SCHOOL :

1. Increases Students Innovation and Creativity

Many teachers have discovered that integrating technology in their classroom

increases students engagement in the classroom. So now they put up technological
competitions where students can make small educational technologies like take a
photo then edit the photo to become more beautiful follow their creativity. Students
can use photoshop application to edit the photo. After that, teacher make a
competition among the students who can make a nicely picture about their school.
These technological competitions in schools have increased the level of creativity and
innovation among students.

2. Supports Differentiated Instructions

Teachers can use technology to cater for each and every students needs in the
classroom or outside of the classroom. The use of classroom assessment software and
performance tracking programs helps teachers plan for each student basing on their
performance and learning capabilities. Teachers can be in position to classify students
and know their weakness and strength as far as education is concerned.

3. Simplifies Access to Educational Resources

The use of technology must be encouraged because to do this it must first be

introduced. Art software programs, such as Adobe Photoshop, are a common fear
amongst art students due to the technical language used to describe the formatting
options that are made available. It must consider own skills in relation to such
software and whether able to teach this effectively. When using Photoshop to edit
photographic documents the skills and the knowledge to share confidently with
learners. However, when using Photoshop within graphic design it would become a
barrier to learning because if in this sector are weak it make unable to inform the
learners effectively. The simple instructive videos are available to encourage self
directed study.
4. Motivates Students

The use of computer based instructions makes students feel in control of what
they learn. Students find it easy to learn with technology because computers are
patient compared to humans. Teachers publish educational instructions on classroom
blogs or they assign research work via email, and this gives a student time to study on
their own and have no fear of making mistakes during the process of learning. If
students have skill in editing picture it will make the students more appreciation their
time and picture. Students who have this skills will combine all picture they have to
keep their nice memory either with family or friends in beautiful picture. It make the
students more motive for themselves.

5. Technology makes subjects easy to learn

Technology allows for changes in curriculum to ensure that learners are taught
skills that remain valuable for life. Photoshop skills have become an acknowledged
educational program in itself since graphics designers, illustrators and artists alike
use the program to inform their own unique studio practices. This information is often
shared with learners to create an engaging learning environment where aspiration
becomes the driving point for constructivist learning. The main issues surround the
use of Photoshop is its availability out of the education system learners.
ADVANTAGES OF PHOTOSHOP :

1. Helps to improve the quality of a photograph

2. To clear up the blemishes and the imperfections in the photos

3. Can remove and change the backgrounds in the photos

DISADVANTAGES OF PHOTOSHOP :

1. Not a program designed for the beginners

2. Take long time to learn how to use each one correctly

3. Relatively expensive

4. Well-equipped computer (It takes up a large space of room on your computer as

well as RAM memory)
