I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
 Recognize the importance of tools for editing.
 Enumerate the different kinds of tools for editing image.
 Pinpoint the image that are edited and not edited.

II. Subject matter:

Graphic software programs, which can be broadly grouped into vector graphics editors, raster graphics editors,
and 3D modelers, are the primary tools with which a user may manipulate, enhance, and transform images.
Many image editing programs are also used to render or create computer art from scratch
1. Blur. The Blur tool reduces the sharpness (focus) of an image. It does this by reducing the color
contrast of neighboring pixels.

2. Sharpen. The Sharpen tool increases the sharpness (focus) of an image, by increasing the contrast of
neighboring pixels. This results in increased clearness and contrast of borders, and heightened detail in
the image.

3. Smudge. The Smudge tool spreads color in an image, displacing pixels of corresponding colors. It is
like the effect created by smearing your fingers through wet paint.

The following parameters can be changed for these tools in the Options Panel: Brush, Mode, Strength, Use All
Users, Finger Painting.
4. Brush. The Brush parameter displays the current shape and size of a brush.
Dodge, Burn and Sponge are tools that affect tone. They are used for lightening or darkening parts of an
image.
5. Dodge. This tool lightens a part of an image, if the cursor is dragged across it
6. Burn. This tool darkens a part of an image
7. Sponge. The Sponge tool affects the saturation and contrast of an image.

b. Application
Forming group. They will de going to make an image collage

Direction: Each group will have a leader and reporter. Cut the image using sessors given to each group and
form a collage of images then decide what will be the design of the collage, then after forming the collage the
reporter will explain why they decided to form the design of the collage.

c. Generalization

The use for editing image in photoshop is the Menu tools namely, brush tool, marquee tool, blur tool, pen tool,
lasso tool, the sharpen tool, Smudge, dodge tool and the selection tool.

d. Values Integration

As we edit images using the Menu tools in photoshop, we should consider the proper we of using it for the
beautification, its because there are images that it can sooth your depression and can change the feeling of a
person. That’s why it is important to be creative in dealing with editing images.

Students’ performances will be evaluated through enumerating the tools for editing image
in photoshop and an Essay
