Introductory Message
For the Facilitator:

Welcome to the Empowerment Technologies Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on ICT
as Platform for Change.

This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators from public
institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator in helping the learners meet the standards set
by the K to 12 Curriculum while overcoming their personal, social, and economic constraints in
schooling.

This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent learning
activities at their own pace and time. Furthermore, this also aims to help learners acquire the
needed 21st century skills while taking into consideration their needs and circumstances.

As a facilitator you are expected to orient the learners on how to use this module. You also need
to keep track of the learners' progress while allowing them to manage their own learning.
Furthermore, you are expected to encourage and assist the learners as they do the tasks
included in the module.

For the Learner:

Welcome to the Empowerment Technologies Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on ICT
as Platform for Change.

Photo editing encompasses the processes of altering images, whether they are digital
photographs, traditional photo chemical photographs, or illustrations. Traditional analog image
editing is known as photo retouching, using tools such as an airbrush to modify photographs, or
editing illustrations with any traditional art medium. On the other hand, photo manipulation
involves transforming or altering a photograph using various methods and techniques to achieve
desired results. Some photo manipulations are considered skillful artwork while others are
frowned upon as unethical practices, especially when used to deceive the public, such as hat
used for political propaganda, or to make a product or person look better.

This module was designed to provide you with fun and meaningful opportunities for guided and
independent learning at your own pace and time. You will be enabled to process the contents of
the learning resource while being an active learner.

What I Need to Know

This module will assist you in encouraging the learners to the use of advanced tools and
techniques found in common productivity and software applications in developing ICT content
for specific professional tracks, how to manipulate text, graphics, and images to create ICT
content intended for an online environment.

For the learner

Photo or image manipulation requires creativity and imagination. It is a skill that one may be
able to learn only by constant and consistent practice. “If a picture paints a thousand words,”
image editing, and manipulation is a way to alter a normal or natural image as an effective
media in communicating products or messages.

At the end of this module, you are expected to:

1. Get to know the different available apps or tools for image, photo or graphic design and
editing for mobiles and PC‟s.
2. Independently apply the techniques of image manipulation and graphic design.
3. Create original or derivative ICT content from existing images, text and graphic elements
for use in specific professional tracks. Such as a) Team/ athlete/ league recruitment
posters (Sports); b) Logo or crest for a community, school organization or “barkada”
(Arts); c) Labeling and manual of operation for tools and equipment (Tech-Voc); d)
Presentation of cafeteria patronage data (Business/ Academic).
