Petroleum (Drilling and Production) (Amendment) Regulations 2006

In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 9 of the Petroleum Act and of all other

powers enabling me in that behalf, I, OLUSEGUN OBASANJO, President of the Federal Republic of

Nigeria/Minister of Petroleum Resources, hereby make the following Regulations-.

1. The Petroleum (Drilling Production) Regulations 1969, as amended, are hereby further amended in

paragraph (a) of regulation 60 by substituting for the existing sub -paragraphs (i), (d) and (iii)

thereof, the following new sub-paragraphs (i)-(viii)-

(i) In onshore areas 20 per cent

(ii) In areas up to 100 metres water depth 18.50 percent

(iii) In areas up to 200 metres water depth 16.50 percent

(iv) In areas from 201 to 500 metres water depth 12.00 percent

(v) In areas 501 to 800 metres water depth 8.00 percent

(v) In areas 801 to 1000 metres water depth 8.00 percent

(vii) In areas in water depth higher than 1000 metres 8.00 percent

(viii) Inland Basins 10.00 percent

2. These Regulations may be cited as the Petroleum (Drilling and Production) (Amendment)

Regulations 2006.
